Inevitable

Grief through nature photography can be a poignant and introspective exploration of the human experience. Expanding a past project, Madison captures the raw emotions of loss and the delicate balance of nature's unpredictability. The brain functions differently while grieving, weakening parts of the brain like memory, anxiety, and social skills, most of which lead to an individual's isolation or removal of their "normal life.” These photographs not only reflect personal experiences of sorrow and contemplation but also serve as a universal reminder of the impermanence and fragility of life, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own connections with the natural world and the profound impact it has on our lives. With its ever-changing seasons, cycles of life and death, and vast landscapes, nature can serve as a powerful metaphor for the emotional journey of grief. These works were shown at the Minnesota Street Project galleries in San Francisco.
